About IHVR
Programs
The innovative programs of the Institute for Hepatitis and Virus Research
(IHVR) include a large compound library and screening program for anti-hepatitis
drug discovery, as well as a state-of-the-art proteomics facility that
utilizes two mass spectrometers to examine proteins and other molecules
from those infected with hepatitis B and C in order to develop early markers
of disease.
Biotechnology entrepreneurship is encouraged by the IHVR through its
Regional Biotechnology Council and Ben Franklin Innovations Center. Educational
training programs, which are coordinated in partnership with the Hepatitis
B Foundation, are available to steer talented college and post-college
students into scientific research; and public health outreach is provided
through the expert and comprehensive programs of the Hepatitis B Foundation.
