STEER Fellowships
The STEER program (STEERing post-secondary students into Science and
Technology Entrepreneurship and Research career paths) is an innovative
training program established by the Hepatitis B Foundation, in partnership
with the Institute for Hepatitis and Virus Research (IHVR), and funded
by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It is aimed at preparing
college graduates for careers in the fast-growing areas of biomedical
research, public health and biotechnology. College graduates who are not
employed by a pharmaceutical company are eligible to apply. Candidates
selected by an admissions committee will receive a living stipend and
work with scientists from the IHVR, Hepatitis B Foundation, and Drexel
Institute. Upon successful completion of the training program, and with
the recommendation of their scientific advisor, STEER fellows will be
eligible to apply for enrollment in scientific studies leading to a doctoral
degree from the University of Oxford. For more information, please contact
the Hepatitis B Foundation.
